About
SHE RECOVERS Foundation is a Santa Fe-based nonprofit and global grassroots movement supporting women and non-binary individuals in or seeking recovery from a wide range of life challenges. The organization redefines recovery broadly, addressing not only substance use but also trauma, grief and loss, eating disorders, burnout, chronic pain, and mental health issues such as anxiety and depression.
The movement has grown to connect hundreds of thousands of women worldwide, building community through virtual gatherings, online platforms, coaching, and educational resources. Rather than operating as a treatment center, SHE RECOVERS functions as a connective and empowering network, offering peer support, hope, and a sense of belonging to people on recovery journeys that often feel isolating.
Central to its philosophy is the idea that there are many pathways to recovery and that women deserve support tailored to their experiences. The foundation works to reduce stigma, inspire hope, and empower individuals to find their own path to wellness. Its programming includes coaching certification and training, equipping people to support others in recovery and extending the movement's reach.
The organization has launched initiatives aimed at younger generations, responding to the youth mental health crisis by creating programming for younger women and connecting them to support and community. This reflects an effort to reach people earlier and to adapt its model to emerging needs.
Though headquartered in Santa Fe, SHE RECOVERS operates as an international movement, connecting participants across many countries through digital community. Supported by donations, training revenue, and partnerships with treatment providers, the foundation reflects a modern, inclusive, and expansive vision of recovery centered on the experiences and empowerment of women and non-binary people.
